BE A VALENTINE VALENTINO
It’s not easy being a guy, eh?
No matter how hard we try, the women in our lives seem to expect something more. We’re not romantic, they say. We don’t have a tinge of sweetness in our bodies. We don’t have a thing for spontaneously amorous ideas. We always want everything calculated and planned. We love our cars more than how we love them. We would rather watch Monday Night Football than take them out to dinner. We are not capable of the slightest romance ever.

It’s that time of the year again when there would be an expected shortage of flowers and a large demand for chocolates and jewelries, which would most probably result in another round of price increases, at least for a couple of days or so. Indeed, we are talking about Valentine’s Day, that special day which many believe is meant for lovers and love. Festivities during this occasion include dinner dates, floral deliveries and even wedding proposals on some highly romantic place that would be worth remembering a lifetime for. Throughout the years, Valentine’s has become one of the primary occasions of the year, and a very eagerly anticipated one at that.

For many of us, our fathers are our idea of the alpha male. His wise decisions and the strength and conviction he shows to support the family have been, and will always be, our inspiration as we ourselves ascend to adult life and eventual parenthood. He was always there when we needed him. He always had the right answers for our problems and dilemmas. He never hesitated to tell us whenever we do the wrong things, and he was always ready to praise us and show his pride whenever we achieve something noteworthy.

When I was younger and mother’s day was approaching, I always asked my mom why such an occasion is celebrated. “Why don’t we have a children’s day for ourselves?” I remember asking. She always replied with a smile to my innocent queries. But with that particular question, she gave an answer that I will never forget, one which would linger in my adult life and help me in my own brushes with parenthood. “It’s because,” she said with that all too familiar smile, “everyday is children’s day. What’s one day for a mommy like me?”

Mothers. Where will we be without them? They have brought us to this world and reared us with their love. They stayed with us all throughout our formative years and they were always there to make sure that we would never stray. They never stopped caring for us, even when we have ascended into adulthood with our own lives to take care of.
Indeed, motherhood is a lifelong vocation, and every mother is a hero for the world to emulate. Being a mother, after all, requires a lot of things: patience, benevolence, wisdom, altruism, and a big heart most of all.

Adults today still remember those times when they hung a Christmas stocking by the window. They recall it gave them sleepless nights since they needed to peep through the blanket to witness Santa's arrival. Since the waiting lasted past their bedtimes, they fell asleep and had never seen the fat, bearded man in the red suit.
Hanging a Christmas stocking is a very old Christmas tradition. It has its roots in the legend of St. Nicholas and the three poor sisters. These three poor sisters left a pair of stockings by the chimney to have them dried. But St. Nicholas in his flight with the reindeers dropped a few coins by the chimney that landed on the stockings. And the poor sisters took the coins.

Making your Own Christmas Tree
When it comes to getting a tree for your home, you should consider assembling your own Christmas tree selection guide. Here are a few ideas of what type of criteria to include in your person Christmas tree selection guide.
One of the most important things to note in your Christmas tree selection guide is how tall you need the tree to be. Nothing is quiet as discouraging as spending hours finding just the right tree, only to get it home and see it is too tall or too short. Take measurements of the space where the tree will be displayed and note them in your Christmas tree selection guide.

The History Of One Jolly And Benevolent North Pole Resident
He flies the skies in his sleigh pulled by magical reindeers led by Rudolph with his nose so bright that serves as a headlight through mist and snow-filled places. And he carries a big bad with endless depth, a perennial container of gifts for boys and girls who have been nice, not naughty, the whole year round. And despite being visibly, well, out-of-shape, he is perfectly capable of climbing down from the chimney hole and evading ash-filled logs and dirt as well as detection from the house folks to deliver his presents in socks made for such an occasion.

What the Legend of Santa Claus can Teach Us
For generations, children have been fascinated with the legend of Santa Claus. The idea of a jolly white bearded man who lives at the North Pole and brings gifts to all good children on one special night of the year is an image that many of us take into our adult lives, and in turn share with out children. Though the legend of Santa Claus is, after all, a legend, that does not mean that we don't learn valuable lessons from Santa. Here are a few examples of the way the legend of Santa Claus teaches us.
